2/5/2018 1 Comment Photo assignment 3MacroFor this week's assignment, I decided to take photos under the "Macro" category. I used my little brother's eye as the subject, and shined a flash light on his eye to bring out the colors in the eye and make sure you could see the details clearly. It was difficult getting him to stay completely still so the camera could focus.

2/5/2018 1 Comment Photoshop Assignment 2In this assignment, we were given a picture of a car and a set of instructions to follow to do things like remove the glare and background from the photo. This was challenging for me because the instructions were not very clear, so it took me a while to figure out exactly what I was supposed to be doing. One of the best things I learned from this assignment was how to remove the background and replace it with a different one. After we were done retouching the red car, we were to choose our own photo and make adjustments to it.

I learned a lot of new aspects of Photoshop in this assignment, like how to create four copies of a photo and how to add color.
1/22/2018 0 Comments Photo Assignment 1For this week's photo assignment, I decided to use architecture as my inspiration. I went to downtown Ann Arbor and took photos of a variety of subjects. I had to constantly adjust different aspects of my camera due to the fog and the rapidly darkening sky. I like this picture because it came out very clear, and there is a clear contrast between the lights on the sign and the muted colors of the sky and surrounding structures. f/4.0 1/60 ISO 200 The fog was an aspect of this assignment that was slightly challenging to work around.
12/20/2017 0 Comments Composition 1 & 2Prior to starting this assignment, we first learned about the basics of photography and operating a digital camera. We also took notes on eleven different elements of composition. Then, we were to take our knowledge of the 11 elements and take our pictures of examples of each. Over the course of this assignment, I became significantly more familiar with the digital cameras we were using. Additionally, I now know a lot more about these 11 elements of composition, and have become more comfortable with identifying and using them in my photography. I think the most challenging part of this assignment was finding examples of each element within the high school.
12/19/2017 0 Comments IntroductionMy name is Emma Springsteen and I'm a senior at Saline High School. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with my friends. I work at Pinkberry in Briarwood Mall and I live with my mom and my two brothers, Ian and Henry. I took this class to fulfill a tech credit and it seemed to be one of the most interesting options. I enjoy taking pictures, but have never had any formal training.
